Rockbridge Native Was Manly Memorial Baptist Church Member

Julia May Wiseman Hostetter, 80, of Lexington, Virginia, died Monday, January 16, 2012 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born June 23, 1931 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Beard Wiseman and Lois Reese Wiseman.

Mrs. Hostetter was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira Freemont Hostetter; two brothers, William S. Wiseman and Kenneth B. Wiseman, Sr.; one sister, Mary Keiser.

Surviving are a son, Ernest Ray Hostetter of Raphine; a daughter, Cheryl H. Black and husband, Edward of Lexington; one brother, Charles R. Wiseman of MD; three grandchildren, Kevin Hostetter, Keith Hostetter and Kathleen Black; one great grandchild, Dylan Hostetter; a sister-in-law, Edith Wiseman of Lexington; an aunt, Dorothy (Dot) Nicely of Lexington; and many nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Manly Memorial Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Dr. J. Michael Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Effinger Volunteer Fire Dept., 2824 Collierstown Road, Lexington, VA 24450, Manly Memorial Church, 205 S. Main St., Lexington, VA 24450 or to a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
