Obituary for Lillian D. (Bang) Shelton Lillian D. (Bang) Shelton
Homemaker Was Clifton Forge Main Street Baptist Church Member

Lillian D. (Bang) Shelton, age 78, of 314 Church Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany in Low Moor.

She was born November 26, 1933 in Haydensville, Virginia, to the late Moses and Mary Shelton.

She was a homemaker throughout her life, worked as a Green Thumb Aide for the Clifton Forge Senior Citizen Center, and was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board.

She was a Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed WWE wrestling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Cooper and a son, George Shelton.

She is survived by a daughter, Denise Leisure and husband, Mark of Richmond; a son-in-law, Vincent Cooper of Clifton Forge; a sister, Mary Hayden of Huntington, West Virginia; eight grandchildren, Tynika Allen and husband Mike, Jessica Shelton, Krystal Shelton, Ashley Shelton, Camesha Shelton, Danielle Shelton, Mark Leisure II and Marcus Leisure; six great grandchildren; a number of nieces,nephews, cousins, and other relatives; and a close friend of the family, Garnett Nicely of Clifton Forge.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Main Street Baptist Church with Reverend Preston Tyler officiating and Reverend David Halsey delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be William Lewis, Attell Allen, Garnett Nicely, Gilbert Davis, Steve Anderson and T.L. Dickerson. Flowerbearers will be Geraldine Allen, Catherine Godfrey, Karen Allen, Bettyjo Gleaton, Missionary Eula Mae Roland and Barbara Davenport.

There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may call any time at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, or at the residence.
