James Lees Retiree Was Stone Church Of The Brethren Member

Lydia Cordelia McManamay Johnson, 89, of Glasgow, Virginia, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Benjamin Borden Healthcare Center in Lexington.

Born August 28, 1922 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Wilton Arthur McManamay and Effie Claytor McManamay.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Stone Church of the Brethren and retired from James Lees in Glasgow after many years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Johnson, and a daughter Karen Leigh Johnson.

Surviving are her children, Donna F. Johnson; Kirk D. Johnson and wife, Tammy, all of Glasgow; Sharon J. Smith and husband, Mike of Thaxton, VA; two sisters, Edith M. Zollman; Lucy I. McManamay, both of Lexington; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 at Stone Church of the Brethren in Buena Vista with the Rev. Russ Barb officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Stone Church of the Brethren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Stone Church of the Brethren, 2162 Forest Avenue, Buena Vista, VA 24416 or to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P.O. Box 948, Lexington, VA 24450.
