Virginia Sandidge Camden, 96, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Buena Vista.

She was born August 17, 1915 in Amherst County, a daughter of the late Cameron B. Sandidge and Florence Tomlin Sandidge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd W. Camden, Sr., step-mother, Leana Coffey Sandidge, a daughter, Bonnie C. Breeden, a son, Floyd W. Camden, Jr., two brothers, Herman Sandidge, Walter Sandidge, and two sisters, Alpha Coleman and Lorene Fifer.

Mrs. Camden was a member of the Stone Church of the Brethren in Buena Vista and retired from Burlington Industries in Glasgow.

Surviving are her daughter, Joyce C. Harris and husband Gary of Buena Vista; sisters, Essie Coleman; Dorothy Floyd; Marolyn Cash; Carolyn Withers; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Bain officiating. Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2012 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P. O. Box 948, Lexington, VA, 24450.

The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, VA.
