Obituary for Lillian Forbes Dudley Lillian Forbes Dudley
C&O Nursing Assistant Was Craig & Botetourt Electric Co-Op Advisory Board Member

Lillian Forbes Dudley, age 86, of 8107 Rich Patch Road, Covington, Virginia, went home to be with her Lord in Heaven on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at The Woodlands Nursing Home in Clifton Forge.

She was born on February 2, 1925 in Bath County, Virginia, to the late Lee Grant Forbes and Elizabeth Fisher Forbes.

She served on the advisory board for Craig & Botetourt Electric Co-Op in New Castle and was a nursing assistant for many years at the Chesapeake and Ohio Hospital and Alleghany Regional Hospital.

She was of the Presbyterian faith and attended Rich Patch Union Church, where she taught Sunday School in years past.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Orville Dudley, who died December 27, 2004; five brothers, Roy Forbes, Paul Forbes, James Forbes, Thomas "Tom" Forbes, and Wyatt Forbes; and a half sister, Kathleen Marshall.

She is survived by two sons, Johnny Dudley and wife, Betty, and Eddie Dudley and wife, Leesa, all of Covington; a daughter, Patsy Waddell and husband, William of Glen Wilton; a sister-in-law, Iona Forbes of Rainelle, WV; a half brother, Harold Deitz of Millboro; three granddaughters, Denise Ayers and husband, Orville of Low Moor, Shelly Dudley Mongold and husband, Jeff of Low Moor, and Christy Dudley Nicely and husband, John B. Nicely of Clifton Forge; one grandson, Duane Dudley of Low Moor; four great grandsons, Richie Dudley of Covington, Brannon Ayers of Low Moor, Dalton Ayers of Low Moor, and Cooper Nicely of Clifton Forge; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. Interment followed in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers were selected from friends attending the service. The family received friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
