Celia Persinger Rose, 85, of 208 Jacksons Flat, Covington, Virginia, died, Monday February 13, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Clifton Forge.

She was born March 18, 1926 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Carl and Stella Wolfe Persinger.

Mrs. Rose had retired as a Nurse's Aide at the former C & O Hospital in Clifton Forge.

She was a member of the Highland Chapel Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Rose, Sr. in 2002 and also by one sister, Peggy Markham, and two brothers, Carl Persinger, Jr. and Lee Persinger.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Ruby Rose and Reba and Everett Tucker, all of Covington; one son and daughter-in-law, Claude Rose, Jr. and Linda of Covington; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Hicks of Clifton Forge, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012 in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. J. B. Broughman officiating. The interment will be made in Lone Star Cemetery.

The family received friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Shane Cox, Quent Byer, Wayne Angell, Lee Persinger, Jr., Gary Smith, Terry Simpson. ,J.C. Armentrout and Justin Wright.
