Clifton Forge Resident Founded Several Radio, TV Stations

Pastor James Raymond (Jim) Reese, Jr., age 89, of 501 Fairview Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at The Woodlands Nursing Home in Clifton Forge.

He was born May 27, 1922 in Boonesboro, Maryland, to the late James Raymond Reese, Sr. and Marie Forman Reese.

He was called to the Pastoral Ministry and was founder of several radio and television stations.

He was a member of the Pastor of the Ministry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Newcomer.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Rebecca Mills Reese of Clifton Forge; three daughters, Lela Putnam and husband, Laddie of Arizona, Teresa Devorak and husband, Dave of Plano, TX, and Carol Hardbarger of Pennsylvania; three sons, James R. Reese, III of Florida, Raymond James Reese of Texas, and Pastor Scott Reese and wife, Kim of Goshen; four sisters, JoAnn Lum, Rebecca Higman, Nancy Taylor, and Shirley Motz, all of Maryland; a brother, Pastor Donald Reese of Quincey, PA; and a number of grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Millboro Christian Church Cemetery in Millboro with Pastor Tyler Clem officiating. Interment will follow. There will be no visitation. However, friends may call any time at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
