Obituary for Patricia Ann Leisure (Pat) Williams Patricia Ann Leisure (Pat) Williams
Retired After 30 Years Of Service At Howard University

Patricia Ann Leisure (Pat) Williams, age 63, of 1009 McCormick Boulevard, Clifton Forge, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 24, 2012 from her home.

She was born April 4, 1948 in Clifton Forge, a daughter of the late Leroy Leisure and Ophelia Barnette.

She was a 1966 graduate of Clifton Forge High School, a 1970 graduate of Saint Paul's College, in Lawrenceville, VA with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and was retired after 30 years of dedicated service from Howard University in Washington, DC, where she served as an Administrative Assistant, Executive Assistant, and Program manager to the Dean of the School of Civil Engineering.

She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, member and past President of the Usher Ministry of the Church, a member of the Benevolence Committee, Sunday School, and the Berean Valley Baptist Association, she prepared the weekly church bulletin and special family programs for Nicely Funeral Home, she served as "Executive Assistant" to Pastor Preston Tyler, and also volunteered and served as secretary at the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Craft Center in Clifton Forge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Florence Leisure; step-father, Warren H. Cooper; five brothers, Daniel Leisure, Lavern Cooper, Roy Leisure, Dennis Ray Leisure and Quin Leisure; and a sister, Jackie Leisure.

She leaves to cherish her memory two dutiful and dedicated sons: Elroy A. Williams, of Leesburg, VA, and Jeffery A. Williams and wife, Michelle of Philadelphia, PA; her grandbaby, Palmer Augustus Kincaid Williams; two sisters, Evelyn Cooper Bolden of Clifton Forge, and Linda Lundy of Jackson, MI; seven brothers, Melvin Cooper, Glen Cooper and wife, Lenore, Randy Cooper, Vincent Cooper, all of Clifton Forge; Carlton Cooper of Petersburg, VA, Tommy Cooper and wife, Sophia of Hampton, GA, Gregory Leisure of Harrisonburg, VA; one uncle, Rev. Matthew T. Barnette, Sr. and wife, Carolyn of Clifton Forge; aunts, Mrs. Galya Barnette of Vallejo, CA, Mary L. Richardson of Lynchburg, VA, Mrs. Josephine Wallace of Low Moor, VA, Louise Cade of Washington, DC; and two devoted friends who were just like sisters to her, T.J. West and Maxine Lee.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday from the Main Street Baptist Church in Clifton Forge, with the Reverend Preston Tyler officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge.
