Ruby Lucille Stinnett, 88, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Friday March 2, 2012 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Mrs. Stinnett was born on November 25, 1923 in Rockbridge County, and was the daughter of the late James Luther Chittum and Cora Elizabeth Rowsey.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Mrs. Stinnett was preceded in death by her first husband, George "Calvin" Pryor.

Mrs. Stinnett is survived by her husband, Sam Stinnett; two children, Wanda Pope and Garland Pryor; a brother, Chester Chittum; and a sister, Evelyn Southers; three grandchildren, Todd Pope, Russ Pope and Adam Pryor; one great-granchild, Georgia "Gia" Pope.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Jeff Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Buena Vista.
