Buena Vista Native Was Avid UVA Lacrosse, Football Supporter

Philip Daniel Radick, 49, of Raphine, Virginia, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at his home.

Born July 18, 1962 in Lexington, he was a son of the late Dr. R.J. Radick and Nell Wagner Radick.

Phil was a Buena Vista native who graduated from Parry McCluer High School, where he was a successful and enthusiastic all around athlete. He took great pride and joy in being a team moral builder for his school and community.

He attended James Madison University, where he earned a BS in Political Science and later and MBA from Averett Business School.

Philip most recently worked at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in Richmond, VA.

Phil was an avid UVA lacrosse and football supporter.

He had many friends throughout his life with whom he made great memories. He also enjoyed discoursing on politics and sports. Phil also loved his lifetime canine companions as well as music and nature. His charismatic personality was jovial and infectious, and will be missed deeply by all the lives he touched.

Surviving are his wife, Hilda Garrett Radick of Raphine; brothers, John and James Radick and wives, Helga and Angela, all of Lynchburg, VA; niece, Bridges and husband, Jay Spiva of Goode, VA; sisters, Sarah Radick of St. Paul, MN; Jane Radick of Lexington, VA; Ellen and spouse, Billy Clark of Fairfield, VA; stepson Garrett Slagle; stepdaughter, Brittany and husband, Jeremiah Brockenbrough of Rockbridge County, VA; sister-in-law and spouse, Patricia and Sheldon Cash of Florida.

A service to remember and celebrate Philip's life will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Carter officiating. Burial will be private. There will be no visitation at the funeral home, although friends will be received at other times at Phil and Hilda's home in Raphine, VA.

Phil was a lovable rogue, a friend to all, and a Fighting Blue to the end.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hilda Radick at 14 Meadowview Lane, Raphine, VA 24472 for the continued care of his beloved dogs, Hanna and Scout or the Rockbridge Area SPCA at P.O. Box 528, Lexington, VA 24450.
