Elizabeth M. Bentley, 97, of Lexington, Virginia, died on March 10, 2012 at her home at Kendal-at-Lexington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Bentley, and her daughter, Leslie Elizabeth Bentley.

After a private burial, a memorial service will be held at R.E. Lee Memorial Episcopal Church, Lexington, at 11a.m. on Wednesday, March 14.

Over the years Mrs. Bentley was active with a number of organizations, chief among which are R.E. Lee Memorial Episcopal Church, the Stonewall Jackson House, Boys' Home in Covington, Virginia, and Washington and Lee University.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to R. E. Lee Memorial Episcopal Church, Boys' Home, or to the Fellowship Fund of Kendal-at-Lexington.
