Carol Jean Haynes (Jeannie) Lindsay, 70 , of 1020 West Ridge Street, Covington, Virginia, died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at her home.

Mrs. Lindsay was born April 26, 1941, in Covington, a daughter of the late William and Bettie Nicely "Anna" Haynes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Wayne Lindsay in 2001, and by two sisters, Barbara "Bobbie" Day and Betty Rucker.

She retired as an Registered Nurse in 2003 with 30 years of service with Alleghany Regional Hospital.

Jeannie was a member of First Christian Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was a life member of the Westvaco Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Covington Woman's Club.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Randy Rose, and her son, Chris Lindsay, all of Covington; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive their Monday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.

The interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park.
