Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church Member Dies At Age 61

Sue Kellison McRoberts, 61, of 6300 Hot Springs Road, Hot Springs, Virginia, crossed from this life into her eternal home on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at her family home.

She was born August 7, 1950 in Covington, a daughter of the late James Ralph and Ruth Robinson Kellison.

Sue was a member of Persinger Memorial United Methodist Church and made the Valley her life-long home, being raised in Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church.

She was formerly employed as a beautician at the Homestead. After several years she moved her profession to her home as she raised her children. She received great enjoyment in caring for the sheep, Highlander cattle and chickens, she and Tom raised on the Back Forty Farm.

Mrs. McRoberts is survived by her husband of 38 years, Tom McRoberts; a daughter, Ruth McRoberts of Baltimore, MD; a son and daughterŠin-law, Thomas N. Roberts, Jr. and Susan of Hot Springs; her other son, Two-Leaf Sluder of Cherokee, NC; two sisters, Linda Adams of Hot Springs and Jamie and Dan Bird of Covington; nieces, Laura and Chad Whitmer and Jessica and Marshall Hancock; nephews, Mason Jermey and Amy Adams and Seth Adams; great nieces, Savannah and Maddie and a number of cousins; her dear friend, Margie Leavine, and her faithful companion, Ranger.

A service of remembrance will be held 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2012 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Brown and the Rev. Lennie Stinnet officiating.

Following the service the family will receive friends at the funeral home.

In keeping with Sue's wishes, her body has been cremated.

The family suggests that memorial donations in Sue's name may made to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteer, P.O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
