Former Deputy Court Clerk Dies At Age 71

Mary Lou Blackwell Breeden, 71, of Natural Bridge, Virginia, died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at her home.

Born October 5, 1940 in Richmond, Va., she was a daughter of the late Robert Murray Blackwell and Nettie Jennings Blackwell.

Mrs. Breeden was a member of the High Bridge Presbyterian Church, the Rockbridge Red Hat Society, and the Local Chapter of the AARP.

Mary Lou retired as the Deputy Clerk of the Rockbridge County Court.

Surviving are her husband, Wayne E. Breeden of Natural Bridge; one daughter, Courtenay Breeden Rainey; one son, E. Drake Breeden; one brother, Robert Blackwell; one sister, Anne Coffey; five grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at High Bridge Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jason Grimes officiating. Burial will follow at High Bridge Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
