Obituary for Mabel Plogger Hartbarger Mabel Plogger Hartbarger
Rockbridge Native Was Kerrs Creek Baptist Church Member

Mabel Plogger Hartbarger, 90, of Lexington, Virginia, died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Heritage Hall.

Born July 11, 1921 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Preston Plogger and Sarah Jane Hostetter Plogger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Cleo Hartbarger, and a son, Herbert D. Hartbarger.

Mrs. Hartbarger was a member of Kerrs Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are one grandson, David Hartbarger; one great granddaughter, Amanda Hartbarger; five brothers, Oscar Plogger, Clarence Plogger, Emmett Plogger, and Richard Plogger, all of Lexington; Melvin Plogger of New Market; one sister, Ethel Henricks of Lexington; daughter-in-law, Betty Hartbarger; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Harrison Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Nix officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
