Retired Laboratory Technician Dies At Age 86

Constance Tingler (Connie) Uarich, age 86, of 2789 Windy Hill Lane, Powhatan, Virginia, and formerly of Eagle Rock, Virginia, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her husband, daughter, and son-in-law.

She was born April 20, 1925 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, to the late James Richard Tingler, Sr. and Willie Hamilton Tingler.

She was a retired laboratory technician for Hercules, Inc. at Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

She was a member of Longdale Baptist Church in Botetourt County, Virginia.

Connie was an artist in different media. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and gardening. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved her dog, Duchess.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Graham Tingler and Richard Tingler, Jr.; a sister, Nelle Fuller; and a step grandson, Ben Jones.

She is survived by her husband, John Lawrence Uarich, Jr. of Powhatan; a daughter, Pamela Rhoney and husband, Bill of Powhatan; two step daughters, Laura Campbell of Covington and Linda Jones of Buena Vista; three grandchildren, Brittany Rhoney, Jonathan Rhoney, and Cameron Rhoney; three step grandchildren, Moriah Barger, Hayley Campbell, and Jesse Campbell; three step great grandchildren; and three nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Paul Brokaw officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be Guy Showalter, Jonathan Rhoney, Cameron Rhoney, Johnny Fuller, Gary Tingler, and Scott Fuller. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association, ATTN: Joy Weeks, Memorial Chairman, 2212 Dressler Drive, Covington, VA 24426.
