Boyce Wilbert Ferguson, 73, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born March 8, 1939 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Samuel Z. Ferguson and Ruth Austin Ferguson.

Mr. Ferguson retired from the Buena Vista Police Department after twenty-two years of service.

Surviving are three sons, Barry Ferguson and wife, Nancy; Tony Ferguson and wife, Lisa; Shane Ferguson and Kaitlyn Mays, all of Buena Vista; two brothers, Melvin Ferguson and Frank Ferguson; one sister, Caroline Camper; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. W. David Bain and the Rev. Arnold Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, VA.
