Disabled American Veterans Member Dies At Age 49

John Mark Horn, age 49, of 933 McCormick Boulevard, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany, Low Moor.

He was born October 17, 1962 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, to the late John Henry Horn, Jr. and Rebecca Hester Webster Horn.

He was a graduate of Clifton Forge High School.

He served in the United States Army during Operation "Desert Storm" and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents.

He is survived by a son, Patrick Horn of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Katherine "Taffy" Graves of Clifton Forge and Heidi Williams and husband, Marshall of Covington; a brother, Chris Horn and wife, Tonya of Clifton Forge; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend T. G. Ayers officiating. Military rites were conducted by members of the Burnside-Carpenter Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4299. The family received friends at Nicely Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until time of service. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Mark's name to the Disabled American Veterans, P. O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
