Obituary for Frances Louise Conner Frances Louise Conner
Rockbridge Native Dies At Age 85

Frances Louise Conner, 85, of Lexington, Virginia, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Benjamin Borden Healthcare Center in Lexington.

Born June 25, 1926 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Kirby and Hassie Frazier Kirby.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Higgins; three brothers, Houston Kirby, Lee Kirby, and Robert "Bobby" Kirby.

Frances was a member of the Collierstown United Methodist Church and was the last member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Conner loved to crochet, knit, and listen to the radio, and her favorite color was purple.

Surviving are her husband of sixty seven years, Carl H. Conner, Sr. of Lexington; children, Bonnie Gregory of Buena Vista; Carl H. Conner, Jr. of Lexington; Crystal Wines of Madison Heights; Becky Blackwell of Fairfield; one sister, Margaret Loving of Richmond; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 6 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Mitchell officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Frances' memory to Collierstown United Methodist Church or to the Effinger Fire Department.
