Obituary for William H. (Bob) Fitzgerald William H. (Bob) Fitzgerald
Air Force Veteran Loved Carpentry, Baseball

William H. (Bob) Fitzgerald, 67, of Lexington, Virginia, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Augusta Health Center in Fishersville, VA.

Born August 13, 1944 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late James Staton Fitzgerald and Ruth Dudley Fitzgerald.

Bob served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran.

He was an avid fan of baseball and loved carpentry.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Fitzgerald, and one son, William Henry Fitzgerald, Jr., both of Lexington; five brothers, James Fitzgerald of Buena Vista; George Fitzgerald; Jimmy Fitzgerald; Jesse Fitzgerald, all of Lexington; Eddie Fitzgerald of Collierstown; one sister, Mary Clemmer of Blue Ridge; three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial will be private. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC, 20004.
