Obituary for Frona Zell Mattox Frona Zell Mattox
Former Missionary Was NC Native

Frona Zell Mattox, age 87, of Briarcliffe Apartments, Apt 304, 800 W. Ridgeway St., Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at The Woodlands Nursing Home in Clifton Forge.

She was born June 15, 1924, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a daughter of the late William Clarence Mattox, Sr. and Ruby Clinard Mattox.

She was a lifelong member of Salem Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC, but attended Clifton Forge Baptist Church in recent years.

She was educated in public schools in Winston-Salem, NC and graduated from Piedmont Bible College.

She was a missionary under the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism, Inc., serving in Brazil.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Reverend William Clarence Mattox, Jr. and a sister, Marianne Mattox.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Ada T. Mattox of Clifton Forge; and four nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor with Dr. Thomas G. Harvey officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggest memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism, Inc, P.O. Box 8585, Harrisburg, PA 17105.
