Mark Allen Gibson, 54, of Roanoke, and formerly of Covington, Virginia, died Friday, May 18, 2012 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 5, 1958 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Marvin Edward and Rosemary Gilliland "Polly" Gibson.

Mark was employed by Fidura and Associates in Roanoke as a Special Needs caregiver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gaynelle Weese.

Surviving are three brothers, Edward W. "Buddy" Gibson and his wife, Carlene and Vance E. Gibson and his wife, Kathy, all of Covington and Hugh "Buzzy" Gibson and his wife, Shelly of Hampton; three sisters, Missy Grim and her husband Joe of Roanoke with whom he resided; Cleva "Sissy" Sizemore and her husband, Gerald of Covington and Ruby Tawney, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews including Elysia and Jheryd Belin of Roanoke.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday May 22, 2012 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Marshall officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 21 from 6:00 - 8: 00 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.

Following the visitation his body will be cremated.
