Obituary for James Edward (Jimbo) Wagner, Sr. James Edward (Jimbo) Wagner, Sr.
Army Veteran Was National 9 Ball Champ, Minor League Player

James Edward (Jimbo) Wagner, Sr., 75, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at his home.

Born June 19, 1936 in Buena Vista, he was a son of the late Robert B. Wagner, Sr. and Virginia Chaplin Wagner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ellen "Liz" Lewis Wagner;, one brother, Robert B. Wagner, Jr., and one sister, Charlotte Wagner Schreiber.

Mr. Wagner was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Army in Germany.

Jimbo formerly worked for Mundet-Hermetite in Buena Vista, was a Kairos Prison Ministries participant, won the Nine Ball International Pool Championship in 1994, and played with the St. Louis Cardinals Minor League for three years.

Surviving are his wife, Dolly Alford Cash; two sons, James E. "Jamey" Wagner, Jr.; Mark D. Wagner; two step-sons, Dean H. Cash and wife, Sherry; T.L. Cash and wife, Sonja; one granddaughter, one great granddaughter, five step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. William Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Glasgow Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2012 at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, VA.
