Mrs. Jane Edmunds Stephenson, age 83, of 111 Mountaineer Drive, Apt 20, Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Brian Center Alleghany, Low Moor.

She was the widow of the late Justice Roscoe B. Stephenson, Jr., who preceded her in death by one year and one day, May 30, 2011.

Mrs. Stephenson was born March 24, 1929 in Bedford County, the daughter of the late Thomas Barksdale Edmunds and Isabel Bouldin Edmunds.

Mrs. Stephenson is survived by two sons, Roscoe B. Stephenson, III and wife, Tammy of Covington and Thomas E. Stephenson of Covington; nine grandchildren, Douglas Haynes Kelley and wife, Neely, Jane Stephenson, Roscoe B. "Bo" Stephenson, IV, Ashley Osborne and husband, Aaron, Hannah S. S. Markham, Thomas E. Stephenson, Jr., Nicholas Lawson and wife, Courtney, Sarah. L. Moore and husband, Andrew, and Daniel C. Lawson and fiance, Vicky Martin; and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Stephenson was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha Elizabeth Stephenson Kelley in 1982.

A funeral service was conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jamie B. Pharr officiating. Interment followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family received friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Steve and Tammy Stephenson, 111 Mountaineer Drive, Apt. 17.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to First Presbyterian Church, 185 N. Maple Avenue, Covington, VA 24426.
