Timothy (Timmy) Lee Chittum, 58, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012.

He was born on September 9, 1953 in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Georgie (Pot) Chittum and Jeanette Ogden Chittum.

Timmy was a member of the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert L. Ogden and Annie Edwards Ogden.

Mr. Chittum is survived by his wife of 31years, Cathy St. Clair Chittum; a daughter, April Michelle Newcomer, and husband James; a son, Justin Lee Chittum and Kristen Simpson; a sister, Kimberly Mae Chittum McKinney; two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. W.A. Mills and Rev. W. David Bain officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 4002018, Des Moines, IA 50340. The family would also like to thank Carilion Home Care Services, Rev. W.A. Mills and Rev. Tim Morrison.
