Obituary for Joseph Cecil Irvin Joseph Cecil Irvin
Self-Employed Carpenter Was Former Covington Resident

Joseph Cecil Irvin, 53, of Richmond, Virginia, and formerly of Covington, died, Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.

He was born June 26, 1959 in Alleghany County, a son of Virginia Thompson Biggs of Clifton Forge and the late Boyd C. Irvin.

For several years Joseph was a self employed carpenter.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his step father, Tim Biggs of Clifton Forge; three daughters, Linda F. Irvin of Covington, Sammie J. Irvin and Tina Irvin, both of Ohio; two brothers, Frank and Ellen Irvin and Richard and Denise Irvin, all of Covington; three sisters, Angie Perry of Buchanan, Betty and Kim Maury of Mullens, WV, and Marshall and Mike of Sergent of Grundy, WV; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.

The Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia, handled the arrangements.
