David Thomas Rhodes, 68, of Blue Ridge, Virginia, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Rhodes was born December 24, 1943, in Alleghany County, a son of the late Thomas and Beulah Vance Rhodes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a Son, Mika Clapton, in 1985.

He was employed as an Instrument Technician with MeadWestvaco in Covington with over 30 years service with the company.

He was a veteran with the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Good News Fellowship Church.

Surviving are his wife, Rachel Bangan Rhodes, of Blue Ridge; his son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Kellie Rhodes, of Goodview; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Ronald Powers of Blue Ridge and Debra and Jerry Smith of Covington; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In accordance with his wishes, Mr. RhodesŐ body has been cremated.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Noel officiating. The family will receive friends at Arritt Funeral Home following the service on Saturday.
