Obituary for Ernestine Livesay (Teenie) Hodges Ernestine Livesay (Teenie) Hodges
West Virginia Native Worked With Sidney's, Covington Department Store

Mrs. Ernestine Livesay (Teenie) Hodges, age 93, of Covington, Virginia, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany.

She was the wife of the late William Eldridge Hodges, who preceded her in death in 1989.

Mrs. Hodges was born February 3, 1919 in Marlinton, WV, the daughter of the late Clarence Kincaid Livesay and Lena Hardbarger Livesay.

A resident of this area since 1935, she graduated from Covington High School.

Mrs. Hodges was employed as a clerk by the former Covington Department Store and the former Sidney's Department Store before her retirement.

She was a member of Covington Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hodges is survived by a daughter, Sue Ellen Hodges Dameron and husband, Stuart of Rainelle, WV; a son, William B. Hodges and wife, Martha of Covington; five grandchildren, Chris Dameron and wife, Cindy, Kevin Dameron, Cary Dameron and wife, Kelli, Brian Hodges and wife, Claudine of Fincastle, Jennifer Hodges of Hilton Head Island, SC, five great grandchildren Jacob Martin and wife, Kerri, Jordan Dameron, Melanie Williams, Megan Roberts and McKenzie Winnings; and a special nephew, Jimmy Levisay.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

A graveside service was conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Alleghany Memorial Park with the Rev. Chris Poluikis officiating. Active pallbearers were William B. Hodges, Stuart Dameron, friends and family.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Covington Baptist Church, P. O. Box 687, Covington, VA 24426 or Mountain Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
