Obituary for Janie Garland Hoke Janie Garland Hoke
Homemaker Was CFHS Graduate, Presbyterian Church Member

Janie Garland Hoke, age 82, of 1213 Ingalls Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at her residence.

She was born June 28, 1929 in Clifton Forge to the late Kenner Nathaniel and Susie Wright Garland.

A graduate of Clifton Forge High School, she was a homemaker throughout her life and a member of Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert L. Garland, William Elwood "Bill" Garland, and James "Nat" Garland; and a sister, Elizabeth Virginia Garland.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Arnold William Hoke of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Patricia Hoover and husband, Jamie of Covington; two sons, Gary Hoke and wife, Michelle, and Ronnie Hoke and wife, Cissy, all of Covington; a sister, Louise Carter of Clifton Forge; seven grandchildren, Phillip Hoover, Greg Hoover, G. W. Hoke, Josh Hoke, Laura Sizemore, Andy Hoke and Vanna Hoke; eight great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Paul Brokaw and Reverend Roger Bush officiating. Interment followed in Crown Hill Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Pallbearers were Mrs. Hoke's grandsons, Phillip Hoover, Greg Hoover, G. W. Hoke, Josh Hoke, and Andy Hoke. The family received friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P. O.
