Obituary for Ruby Della Anderson Patterson Ruby Della Anderson Patterson
Homemaker Was Immanuel Baptist Church Member

Ruby Della Anderson Patterson, age 96, of 3903 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Sunday June 24, 2012 at her residence.

She was born September 12, 1915, in Iron Gate, Virginia, a daughter of the late Frank Martin and Mary Faye Fisher Anderson.

She was a homemaker throughout life, and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Sharon Senior Citizens.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Presley Lee "Pete" Patterson in July of 1996, a son, Ernest Lee Patterson, Sr., a sister, Catherine Virginia Mays, and two brothers, Floyd Marion Anderson, Carl Woodrow Anderson.

She is survived by three daughters;: Crystal Vess and husband, Jerry, Sr., Mildred "Millie" Duncan, both of Clifton Forge, Carolyn Amborse and husband, Freddie, of Covington, six sons; Harold "Gene" Patterson and wife, Karen, of Iron Gate, John Wayne Patterson, SR and wife, Bobbie, of Keyser, WVA, Presley Leon Patterson and wife, Phyllis, of Inwood, WVA, Gary Patterson, of Covington, and Ralph Patterson, of Iron Gate.

She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, a sister; Mary Gladys Haynes, of Clifton Forge, three brothers, Frank Herbert Anderson, of Covington, Graham Lewis Anderson, and Earl Edward Anderson, both of Clifton Forge, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Dillon, officiating. Interment followed in the Central Advent Christian Cemetery in Clifton Forge. Active pallbearers were be Scott Boyd, Stacy Patterson, Robbie Eugene Patterson, Jerry Vess, Jr., Jim Duncan, and Kyle Patterson.

The family received friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in her memory to Immanuel Baptist Church ,2819 Douthat Road, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
