Lydia Margaret (Maggie) Snider Topping, 99, of Fairfield, Virginia, died Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Golden Living Center.

Born April 17, 1913 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Henry Snider and Lydia Arehart Snider.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Monon Lee Topping; ten brothers and one sister.

Lydia was a member of Fairfield United Methodist Church of Fairfield.

Lydia is survived by her children, Patricia T. Self and Samuel Topping, both of Fairfield; granddaughters, Judy Knick, Michelle Elwood and Trina Topping; great-grandson, Noah Knick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Fairfield Cemetery with the Rev. Elizabeth Walker officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at Fairfield United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fairfield Methodist United Fairfield VA. 24435, or Emory United Methodist Church in Vesuvius.
