Obituary for Carl Mack Faidley Carl Mack Faidley
World War II Army Veteran Was Clifton Forge Native

Carl Mack Faidley, 89, of Chesapeake, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012.

He was born in Clifton Forge, VA, on October 7, 1922 a son of the late Julian and Anna Faidley.

Mack was proud to have been a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Third Division. He retired from the American University, Washington, D.C. and was an avid Redskins and Washington Nationals fan. He was always laughing and smiling and will be forever missed.

Survivors include his daughters, Valarie Faidley Fillgrove of Lee's Summit, MO and Carlana Massie of Granite City, IL; four grandsons and two great-grandsons.

A funeral service was be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge, with the Reverend Lester Kennedy officiating. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery, with graveside Military honors provided by the Curtis A. Smith VFW Post #1033. Pallbearers were selected from friends attending the service.

The family received friends at Nicely Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
