Former Industrial Rayon Employee Was Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church Member

Mrs. Dorothy Evelyn Brown Drummond, age 90, of Covington, Virginia, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at the Brian Center Alleghany, Low Moor.

She was the wife of the late Raymond Harley Drummond.

Mrs. Drummond was born August 31, 1921 in Covington, the daughter of the late Dunlap Ernest Brown and Gertrude Long Brown.

She worked in the lacing department of the former Industrial Rayon Plant for twenty-two years and was also employed as an Assistant Registrar with Alleghany County.

Mrs. Drummond was a long time and dedicated member of Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a former Treasurer of the church and a former Secretary for the United Methodist Women.

Mrs. Drummond is survived by one son, Ronnie Ray "Harley" Drummond and wife, Robin of Covington and three grandchildren, Andrea D. Fogel of Petersburg, Daniel "Danny" Ray Drummond, and Kelly Marie Drummond; and one great grandson, Riley Drummond.

In addition to her parents, Dunlap Ernest Brown and Gertrude Long Brown, and her husband, Raymond Harley Drummond, Mrs. Drummond was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin N. Brown, Arnold E. Brown, and W. Vernon Brown and one sister, Joyce Ruth Brown Hayslett.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. James Rodden officiating.

Those wishing to attend the service, please assemble at Loving Funeral Home by 10:00 a.m.
