Lexington Wrenchworks Owner Was Native Of Germany

Siegmund Richard (Siggy) Podlejski, of Rockbridge Baths, Virginia, died at home August 5, 2012.

Born in Stadlen, Germany, December 2, 1956, he was the son of Eduard Podlejski and the late Luise and Joseph Keohane.

He is survived by his wife, Penelope Podlejski; his father; and siblings, Peter Podlejski and Eileen Keohane, all of Boston, Mass., and Luise Keohane, of Naples, Fla.; children, Dana Bumbalough, of Bloomington, Ind., Paul Podlejski, of Muncie, Ind., Arielle Podlejski, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Signa Podlejski of Rockbridge Baths; stepdaughter, Kandace Little, of Buena Vista; stepson, Daniel Griffin, of Richmond; and one grandchild, Hannah Bumbalough.

Mr. Podlejski had for the last 32 years owned and operated Wrenchworks, an independent auto repair shop in Lexington.

An avid outdoorsman and accomplished hunter, he stood at the center of a large circle of devoted friends of every age and from all walks of life. He will long be remembered for his keen analytical mind, quick wit, and infectious good humor.

A memorial gathering will take place in September at Sig and Pennie's home in Rockbridge Baths.
