Robert J. Fabrizio died on Friday, August 24, 2012, in Lexington.

He was born in Jersey City, N.J. on May 6, 1921.

Bob graduated from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., in June 1944, as a member of the Class of 1945.

Bob was married for 56 years to Marie Marek, of Chicago, Ill., who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughter, Joan F. Berlin and husband, Bruce, of Virginia Beach; son, Robert J. Fabrizio, Jr. and wife, Karen, of Lexington; and three grandchildren, Nicole M. Berlin, Clark J. Berlin and Robert D. Fabrizio.

A memorial service will be conducted at Christ Episcopal Church, 2246 Walnut Ave., Buena Vista at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012, with the Rev. John Furgerson and the Rev. Tom Crittenden officiating. A reception will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Kendal at Lexington, 160 Kendal Drive, Lexington, VA 24450. Inurnment will be at the United States Naval Academy Columbarium, Annapolis, Md.
