Gerard Francis (Jerry) Keeley, 81, born February 4, 1931, died August 24, 2012, at his home in Lexington, Virginia.

He was born in Westchester County, N.Y., to Joseph L. Keeley and Genevieve Van Noy, the third of seven children.

He served his country in the United States Navy.

He was a graduate of Hofstra University, in New York.

Over the course of his 25 year career as an international banker, he and his wife raised four children.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ursula Johanna Garbe Keeley. He was the loving father of four children, Lars D. Keeley and wife, Sabine S. Keeley, of Lilienthal, Germany, Mark O. Keeley and Moni R. Keeley, of Lexington, Greg M. Keeley and Deborah B. Keeley), of New York, N.Y., and Johanna K. Ryder and husband, John Ryder, of Alexandria, and the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren, Nicholas, Megan, Emily, Lars, Mallory, Sophie, Allie, Anna, and Jack.

Father Joseph D'Aurora will conduct a funeral mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, followed by a private family burial. The family will welcome friends following the services between 2 and 4 p.m. at the home of Mark and Moni Keeley.
