Joel Houston Williams, 90, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Heritage Hall in Lexington.

He was born April 22, 1922, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Houston Alexander Williams and Minnie Mae Donnally Williams.

Surviving are his wife, Ellen Birmingham Williams, of Buena Vista; two sons, Raymond H. Williams, of Victoria; George David Williams, of Clemmons, N.C.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2012, at Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. George Chapman officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
