Obituary for Mary Patricia Manzo Mary Patricia Manzo
New Zealand Native Dies At Age 86

Mary Patricia Manzo, 86, died Monday, September 10, 2012 in Hot Springs, Virginia.

She was born November 11, 1925 in Hamilton, New Zealand, the daughter of Frederick and Eileen Lawless, both deceased.

On August 10, 1946, she married Vincent Anthony Manzo, who preceded her in death in November, 2004.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Michael J. Manzo.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen Williams and her husband, Clifford, of Hot Springs, with whom she made her home after a life in Scranton, PA; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Manzo of Pittsburgh; grandchildren Margaret C. Manzo of New York, Mary Pat Johnston and husband, Bill, of Boston, Vincent Anthony Manzo II of Washington, DC, Caitlin Elizabeth Manzo of New York, and Melissa A. Williams of Hot Springs; great-grandchildren Michael Robert Johnston of Boston, and Damon Madison of Hot Springs; a number of nieces and nephews; and many friends in Hot Springs, Scranton and beyond who will miss her greatly.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Lawless, and sisters Margaret Lawless, Nancy Lawless (Sister M. Vianny) and Jean Lawless (Sister M. Dorthea).

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18 at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hot Springs, with Rev. John McGinnity as celebrant. Burial will follow in Warm Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Vincent A. Manzo II, Bill Johnston, Steve Matays, James Carpenter, Jason Miller, Paul Trible and Jimmy Ditty. Honorary pallbearers will include Dr. Donald Myers, Dr. James Redington and Millie Williams.

The family will receive friends at McLaughlin Funeral Home Monday, Sept. 17 from 7-8 p.m.
