Frances Best Anderson, 95, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Monday, September 24, 2012, at Heritage Hall in Lexington.

She was born October 17, 1916, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Walter Henry Best and Inez McElroy Best.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ray Anderson; two brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are her two daughters, Faye A. Ford and husband, Richard C., of Lexington; Janet A. Hill and husband, Doug, of Richmond; six grandchildren, Kelly L. Harris, Sheryl L. Hemming and husband, William, Ranelle Bruch and husband, Chris, Stacey L. King and husband, David, Amy H. Thomas and husband, Jim, David A. Hill and wife, Kara; ten great-grandchildren: Keith and Jeremy Hemming, Justin, Courtney, and Adrienne Bruch, Clay, Drew and Porter Thomas, Dylan and Aidan Hill.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the the Rev. Bryon LePere and the Rev. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Buena Vista Baptist Church or the Rockbridge Area Hospice. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista.
