Obituary for Earl Carroll Jessee Earl Carroll Jessee
Korean War Veteran Was Retired From MeadWestvaco's Maintenance Department

Earl Carroll Jessee, 82, of 1304 W. Jackson Street, Covington, Virginia, died Monday, September 24, 2012 at the University Medical Center in Charlottesville.

He was born June 13, 1930, in Lee County, Virginia , a son of the late Earl E. and Margaret Hudson Jessee.

Mr. Jessee served with the United States Army during the Korean War.

He retired from the maintenance department of MeadWestvaco in 1989 after 25 years of service.

He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jesse was preceded in death by a granddaughter in August of this year, Lora Megan Morgan, a daughter, Kathy Earline Jessee, in 1961, and a brother, J.D. Jessie.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years , Evelyn Kendrick Jesse, of Covington; one son and daughter in-law, Rick and Lisa Jessee of Warm Springs, two daughters and sonsÐin-law, Martha and Ralph Morgan and Beverly and Buster Reynolds, all of Roanoke, five grandchildren, Seth Reynolds, Christopher Reynolds, Samantha Tuttle and her husband, Mike; Cory Jessee and his wife, Ashley and Hillary Jessee; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Colleen Burke and her husband, Joe of Bristol, VA and Mildred Hillman and her husband, Henry of Kingsport, TN; one brother, Jim Fleenor and his wife, Chris of Biloxi, MS; a sister-in-law, Leola Jessee of Nashville, TN, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday evening, September 27, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William M. Hartsfield officiating.

The interment will be made Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Kingsport, TN.

Following the service the family will receive their friends at the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorial donations in Mr. Jessee's name may be made to the Temple Baptist Church Building Fund, 300 Stratton Street, Covington, VA 24426.
