Obituary for Helen Charlotte Persinger Helen Charlotte Persinger
Retired CFW Telephone Employee Was First Presbyterian Church Member

Helen Charlotte Persinger, 92, of Covington, Virginia, died Friday, September 28, 2012, at the Brian Center Nursing Care, Low Moor.

Miss Persinger was born June 19, 1920 in Covington, the daughter of the late Munford Tavenor Persinger Sr. and May Bookman Persinger.

A lifetime resident of this community, she was employed in the accounting department of the former CFW Telephone Company, retiring in 1985 with forty-one years of service.

Mrs. Persinger was a member of the Covington Business and Professional Women's Club.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Miss Persinger is survived by one brother, George Meredith Persinger and wife, Shirley, of Millboro; five nephews; and eleven great nieces and nephews.

Miss Persinger was preceded in death by two brothers, Munford Tavenor Persinger Jr. in 1985 and Jack Kyle Persinger in 2009.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012, at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jamie B. Pharr officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to First Presbyterian Church, 185 N. Maple Avenue, Covington, VA 24426.
