Obituary for Marion Carey Woodard, Jr. Marion Carey Woodard, Jr.
Clifton Forge Resident Dies At Age 58

Marion Carey Woodard, Jr., age 58, of 712 Verge Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, and formerly of Hot Springs, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 15, 2012 at The Golden Living Center in Clifton Forge.

He was born August 9, 1954 in Bath County, Virginia, to the late Marion Carey Woodard, Sr. and Leatrice Anderson Woodard.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Clifton Forge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristi Humphreys; a brother, Bernard Woodard; a sister, Matonna Woodard; and a granddaughter, Kristi Burns.

He is survived by a daughter, Amy Burns and husband, Punky of Covington; a son, Jeremy Woodard of Clifton Forge; three sisters, Dreama Woodard of Clifton Forge, Joyce Woodard of Roanoke, and Janet Cardwell of Hot Springs; three brothers, Thomas "Tommy" Anderson and wife, Jenny of Hot Springs, Samuel Anderson and wife, Annette of Rocky Mount, and Marion Gray; three grandchildren, Remington Burns, Shaheim Humphreys, and Jonkel Humphreys; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins, including special cousin, Buddy Cardwell.

The family wishes to thank his caregiver, Tonya and the rest of the Mountain Regional Hospice staff.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Clifton Forge with Reverend Roslyn Thomas officiating.

Interment will follow in Pinehurst Cemetery, Hot Springs. Mr. Woodard's nephews will serve as pallbearers and his nieces will serve as flowerbearers.

The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the church.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is in charge of arrangements.
