Retired Truck Driver Dies At Age 65

Roger Timothy Broughman, age 65 of 110 Clover Lane, Selma, Virginia, died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Lewis Gale-Hospital Alleghany in Low Moor.

He was born October 11, 1947 in Alleghany County to the late Walter James and Alise Hyler Broughman.

Roger was a retired truck driver, loved fishing and the Washington Redskins.

He was a loving father, grandfather and brother and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by two daughters, Crystal Wright and husband, Anthony of Selma, and Michelle Wiseman and husband, Edgar of Low Moor; four sons Chris Broughman of Iron Gate, Rodney Mullins and wife, Amy of Illinois, Tim Horn and wife, Tammy of Covington, and Allen Gibson and wife, Kayla of Covington; two sisters, Beryl Little of Covington and Nettie Wolfe of Front Royal, Va; three brothers, Walter Broughman Jr. of Clifton Forge, Raymond Broughman and wife, Sally of Low Moor, and Robert Broughman of Roanoke; step daughter Angie Burton of Roanoke; previous wife, Geraldine Howell of Selma; brother-in-law, Jay Riley of Low Moor; also surviving are his fourteen grandchildren, including two special grandchildren, Sierra and Tony Wright; a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Riley and two brothers, John Broughman and Clyde Broughman.

There will be no funeral service or visitation. Friends may call any time at the residence of Crystal and Anthony Wright, 110 Clover Lane, Selma.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge.
