McCutchen Presbyterian Church Member Was West Virginia Native

Walter Samuel (Sam) Billings, 68, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died on Friday, November 2, 2012, at his home.

He was born on February 21, 1944, in Mercer County, W.Va., a son of the late William Riley Billings and Katherine Lucille Rose.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers. Mr. Billings was a member of the McCutchen Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the Moose Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Molly Ann Smith Billings; two daughters, Sharon Fox and husband, Tony, and Amanda Truslow and husband, Gary, all of Buena Vista; two sisters, Joann Griggs and Patsy Monger; three brothers, Kenneth Billings, Henry Billings, and Clifford Billings; and three grandchildren, Zachary Fox, Tanner Fox, and Hailey Truslow.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Wyatt Mays officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers Street, Lexington, VA 24450. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, Va., 540-261-5510.
