Obituary for Dana Lee Dressler Tingler Dana Lee Dressler Tingler
Lifelong Covington Resident Dies At Age 92

Mrs. Dana Lee Dressler Tingler, age 92, of Covington, died Saturday, November 3, 2012, at LewisGale Hospital Ð Alleghany, Low Moor.

She was the wife of Norwood Burman Tingler for over sixty-nine years.

Mrs. Tingler was born August 6, 1920 in Covington, the daughter of the late Pierce Alfred Dressler and Leatha Stinespring Dressler.

She was a lifelong member of the Covington community and a homemaker.

Mrs. Tingler was a member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church and Circle #2 since 1949. She was a member of the Curtis A Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as a flag bearer.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Tingler is survived by a daughter, Dianne T. Mahan of Indianapolis, IN; a son, Michael A. Tingler and wife, Joan of Clifton Forge; a daughter-in-law, Annette George Tingler of Culpepper; five grandchildren, Matthew Tingler, George Tingler and wife, Crystal, Bradley Tinger, Jaclyn Tingler and Jonathan Tingler; three great grandchildren, Austin Tingler, Faith Tingler and Gia Tingler; and one brother-in-law, Louis Porretta of Warwick, RI.

Mrs. Tingler was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly K. Tingler; a son, Barry L. Tingler; two brothers, Frank Dressler and Forrest Dressler; two sisters, Margaret Porretta and Helen Lipes.

A special thanks to the late John Ayers and his family and the late Charlie Epperly and his family for being wonderful and caring friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Fleenor officiating, assisted by Rev. Gene Peters. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Brent Clark, Howard Poague, Larry Washburn, Joe Wimer, Robert Bartley, Bert Caul, Richard Downer and Burton Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Eldridge Cooke, O.E. Parker, Jr. and the Tom Gooch Bible Class.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.
