Warm Springs Resident Dies At Age 84

Alice Marie Hickman, 84, of 361 Chimney Run Road, Warm Springs, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 06, 2012 at Lewis Gale Hospital Alleghany in Low Moor, Virginia.

She was born June 15, 1928 in Bath County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Harry Woodzell, Sr. and Hattie Law Woodzell.

Mrs. Hickman was a housewife; a member of the Hot Springs Baptist Church; and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by husband of 63 years, James Mack Hickman of Warm Springs, whom she married on June 16, 1949; three sons, Edward Lee "Petie" Hickman of Warm Springs, Edward Wayne "Charlie" Woodzell of Hot Springs and Justin Woodzell and wife, Debra of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Brad Hickman & and wife, Tonya of Batesville, Virginia, Robert Hickman of Burnsville, Virginia and Melissa Wilfong and husband, Jamie of Burnsville; two sisters; Dreama Woodzell of Union, West Virginia and Arlene Walton and husband, Imon of Union, West Virginia; and seven great grand children.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Eddie Law & Harry Woodzell, Jr.

A funeral service was conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Hot Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Garland Humphries, Pastor Billy Robertson and Pastor Lennie Stinnett officiating. Interment was made in Jacob Cleek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jamie Wilfong, Jeffrey Hamilton, Steven Ailstock, Brad Hickman, Jerry Liptrap and Robert Hickman.

The family received friends one hour prior to services from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Hot Springs Rescue Squad or the Hot Springs Fire Department.
