Obituary for Helen Leona Burks King Helen Leona Burks King
Gospel Tabernacle Church Of God Member Was Church Mother

Helen Leona Burks King, 84, of 913 N. Alleghany Ave., Covington, Virginia, died, Thrusday, November 8, 2012 at The Golden Living Center in Clifton Forge.

Mrs. King was born June 10, 1928 in Fayette County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Harry and Rosa Tiffany Burks.

She was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, where she had been a Church Mother.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, John Glenn Burks in 1982; a son, Charles Burks; a sister, Florence Davis, and a brother, Russell Davis.

Surviving are two daughters, Evangelist Gloria Triplett and her husband, Vaughie and Shelia King, all of Covington; two sons, David King and his wife, Shirley of Hampton and Glenn King of Covington; 15 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a niece, Betty Booker and her husband, Billy of Covington, and numerous cousins.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday.

The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in the Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Chris with the Elder Pete Moore officiating.

The interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, is handling the arrangements.
