Geraldine Ann Rhodes Markham, 83, of Glasgow, Virginia, died on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at the Benjamin Borden Center in Lexington, Va.

She was born on October 31, 1929, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Raymond Garfield Rhodes and Gracie Branch Rhodes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barnie Marshall Markham. Mrs. Markham was a member of the Sedalia Baptist Church in Bedford, Va., and retired from Burlington Industries after 40 years of service.

Surviving are one son, Gerald Allen "Pete" Rhodes, of Roanoke; two sisters, Emma Bowling, of Colonial Heights, and Izetta Williams, of Natural Bridge; two grandchildren, Christopher Rhodes and Catherine Rhodes; and one great-granddaughter, Finley Rhodes.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Douglas Milliner officiating. Burial will be private at the Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery in Bedford, Va.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
