Violet Whanger Hall, 90, of 2912 Kanawha Trail, Covington, Virginia, died Wednesday morning, December 19, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Clifton Forge.

Mrs. Hall was born July 1, 1922, in Alleghany County a daughter of the late Wesley Emmitt Whanger and Lavlet Sively Whanger Morris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Elmer Elwood Hall, in 2004; her Son, Elmer "Jack" Hall, Jr.; and two sisters, Reva Rider in 1986 and Virginia Smith in 2010 and her brother, Wesley Whanger.

Surviving are two sisters, June Martin and Jean Ross, both of Covington; her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Hall of Covington, and a number of nieces and nephews.

There are many relatives, not only on the Whanger-Morris side, but on the Hall side as well who thought highly of Violet and will miss her.

The family will receive friends at Arritt Funeral Home one hour before service time Saturday morning and at other times will be at the residence of June Martin and Jean Ross at 3004 Kanawha Trail.

The funeral service will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Atkins officiating.

Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park.
