David Michel Hughes, 56, of The Golden Living Center in Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor.

He was born November 12, 1956 in Covington, a son of the late Lewis W. and Virginia Dawson Hughes.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis W. Hughes.

Surviving are his one brother, Steve Williams of Lewisburg, WV; his three sisters, Shirley Burks and Mary Barber, both of Covington, and Terri Heart of Charlottesville; and a number of nieces and nephew.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matthew T. Barnette officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Saturday morning at the Arritt Funeral Home.

The interment will be made in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
